Summary
Aims
This paper summarises the available evidence for the main areas of spend and activity outlined in the Scottish Enterprise (SE) Business Plan. In particular, evidence is shown for growth companies, the globally competitive business environment and globally competitive sectors. The report considers the role an activity plays in driving economic growth, Scotland’s current performance, challenges and market failures, SE support and the impact of SE support.
Methods
The evidence base draws on a range of sources including economic data analysis and benchmarking, research studies carried out by SE and other organisations, independent evaluations and economic impact appraisals.
